The Magic Kingdom is the most popular theme park in
Walt Disney World in Orlando,
Florida. If you are planning a trip to the park, this article will help
you prepare so that you can spend your time at the park wisely. There is
really a lot to see and one of the worst feelings after going on a
vacation is going home only to find that there were attractions that you
would have really liked to see, but didn't know about them. If you have
never been to the Magic Kingdom, this article will be especially
informative to you.
The Magic Kingdom is divided into seven magical lands. Each one has its
own special interests and attractions. If you have more than one day to
spend at the park, you can probably cover them all with pretty good
depth. Only one day means that you will definitely want to prioritize to
make sure you get to do what you most want to in that one day.
Main Street USA is the first land you will encounter upon entering the
Magic Kingdom. Picture a small town main street, complete with shops,
restaurants, and things to do along the way. It's a welcoming sight when
you arrive at the park and a convenient place to pick up souvenirs or a
last-minute treat on your way out of the park.
Tomorrowland is a land filled with futuristic buildings and attractions.
You may have heard of Space Mountain. The roller coaster ride through
"space" is a park favorite. Another must-do attraction is the Carousel
of Progress. This is a ride like no other you have experienced. You sit
in a small stadium-like auditorium and watch as scenes of a family
throughout the years unfold before you.
Liberty Square is rather small in comparison to some of the other
"lands," but it boasts another favorite park attraction- The Haunted
Mansion. You may recall a Disney movie featuring Eddie Murphy in which
this haunted mansion had a starring role. You will also find the Hall of
Presidents attraction here. This show features amazingly life-like
animatronic versions of all of the U.S. Presidents, including the
newest, President Obama.
Another land in the Magic Kingdom which has become increasingly popular
because of a movie is Adventureland. The Pirates of the Caribbean is the
ride that started it all and you can ride the adventure here. See Jack
Sparrow and other ruffian pirates at their mischievous pirate
activities.
Splash Mountain is a fun water ride that can be found in Frontierland.
Most people put that on their list of must-do's. Another such ride is
Thunder Mountain. This wild and rickety looking train track holds a
roller coaster that seems that it could fly off the tracks at any
moment. The mountain mining theme is a lot of fun to walk through while
waiting in line.
If your party includes small children, you must visit Mickey's Toontown
Fair. This is one of the best places in the park to meet and greet
Disney's famous characters, such as Mickey and Minnie.
Last, but far from least of the seven lands in the Magic Kingdom is
Fantasyland. This land is home to one of the most recognizable symbols
in the world- Cinderella's Castle. Many of the rides and attractions are
suited to young children, but a favorite of almost everyone is also
here. It's a Small World is a rather long ride that offers the perfect
chance to sit back in a cool building and ride along through the nations
of the world.
So, you can see that there is a lot to do in the Magic Kingdom. Every
family has their favorite land and once you visit them all, you can pick
a favorite of your own.
