Disney World pulls an all nighter!

April 28th, 2013

For one night only, Disney will become the park that doesn’t sleep. During Memorial Day Weekend, three of Disney’s famous theme parks will be open all night long to kick off a celebration of the upcoming “Monstrous Summer.” This is the first time all three of Disney’s most popular parks will be simultaneously open for 24 hours. The bi-coastal all-night party will be held at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Parks in California as well as the Magic Kingdom Park in Florida. All three parks will open their gates from 6:00am May 24, 2013 to 6:00am May 25, local time.

At the Florida Magic Kingdom Park, a “Monsters University” theme will be featured where Sulley and Mike will be monstrous Grand Marshals of the new parade “Celebrate a Dream Come True” before making special appearances in Tomorrowland. Extra entertainment will be provided all day and all night, including a character pajama party in Town Square during late night hours and into the early morning. Late night dance parties are slated to break out in and around Cinderella’s Castle courtyard.

Once Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone, a Monstrous Summer will be upon Disney Parks with a massive lineup of unforgettable attractions to experience where the entertainment is enhanced to celebrate the “Monsters University” characters.

Sulley and Mike are visiting from MU all summer long to scare up as much fun as possible. Some monstrous surprises at the parks include an all-new collegiate setting where your clients will be able to meet their favorite MU undergrad scarers. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios Backlot, guests can visit the MU Student Union, offering a great view of campus. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Sulley and Mike can always be found right outside their university dorms in Hollywood Land.

At Magic Kingdom Park, your clients will giggle with the gang at the Laugh Floor featuring characters from Monsters, Inc. The monsters have all been practicing their new jokes and are ready to try them out on new audience members in honor of “Monsters University”, their alma mater.

It may seem like summer vacation, but school is just starting at Monsters University and will be in session all season long at  Walt Disney World Resorts, book your custom Disney package and save some money!

Disney and beyond packages

April 22nd, 2013

A trip to Disney World sounds like a magical time for the entire family, and it is. But actually planning the trip can be much less than that. You have to decide how many days you want to spend at the parks, which parks you’ll be visiting, the cost of each ticket per person, when and where you’ll be staying, your modes of transportation to the parks, and trying to find the best deals. By the end of the day, you may feel as if all your magic has been spent.

Being able to lump this into one discount package makes planning your trip so much easier. With WDWPackages.com, you save a great deal of money, time, and frustration. When visiting the site, you have the option of choosing from a number of packages. The smallest package is the 2 Day Orlando Vacation Package and the largest package is the 7 Day Orlando Vacation Package. You can even create your own custom package, tailored to your very specific needs.

Before you review the packages, you may want to decide which parks your family would like to visit during the vacation. These parks include the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Blizzard Beach Water Park, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld.

The Magic Kingdom is well-known for the grand Cinderella Castle, colorful Disney characters, enchanting rides, thrilling parades, and awe-inspiring fireworks. At the Animal Kingdom, one can expect to encounter exotic creatures, rugged terrain, and wild adventures. Get ready for the ride of your life at Hollywood Studios: Travel across the galaxy, go back in time, and descend into the Twilight Zone. Experience culture from around the globe, enter the iconic Spaceship Earth, and become an astronaut for a day at the Epcot Theme Park.

Walt Disney World has two water parks: Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. The Typhoon Lagoon has gripping raft rides, relaxing river floats, plummeting water slides, and you can even swim with the sharks. Brave the frosty waters of Blizzard Beach for an entirely different adventure. Take a scenic chair lift up a mountain, slide down a 120-foot drop, and race to the finish line on your sleigh.

Step into the world of movies and television at Universal Studios. Universal Studios contains the world’s most technologically advanced roller coaster ride. Disney World and Universal Studios are completely separate theme parks, but are located within 15 miles of each other. With the Disney World Packages that the site offers, you can opt to include Universal Studios in the package.

Like Universal Studios, SeaWorld is also its own separate theme park. SeaWorld is located within close proximity of Disney World as well. At SeaWorld, you can interact with dolphins and sea lions, plunge down the 400-foot tall Sky Tower, and venture to the lost city of Atlantis.

Some packages come with a Park Hopper. A Park Hopper allows you to hop from one Disney theme park to another Disney theme park in a day. That means you can visit more than one of the parks a day.

So let’s say you want an ultimate 7 day package in the middle of June. For 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3 to 9) — with the Magic Your Way Ticket, Park Hopper, and Water Park Fun and More — it’ll cost you a total of $2,631.54 if you order on Disney’s official website. Included in the cost is the price of the room for the cheapest rates available. Not included are the 2 day tickets to Universal Studios or the 1 day tickets to SeaWorld for both adults and children.

When planning your vacation with WDWPackages, for 2 adults and 2 children (ages 3 to 9) — with the Magic Your Way Ticket, Park Hopper, Water Park Fun and More, 2 days at Universal Studios, 1 day at SeaWorld, and the cost of the rooms for the cheapest rates available — the total will come to $2,594.02. And that’s just one comparison!

So, as you can see, you can save a great deal of money and effort when planning your vacation with WDWPackages.com. Try out our custom packages to see for yourself!

Lace up your sneakers for a scenic walk!

There is so much to see in most of the resorts such that taking a walk will feed your visual senses! Whether you choose to stride the walkways in the evening and enjoy the sunset or would like to begin your day with a heart warming brisk walk or a jog, you are in for a scenic treat. Kids, we are going to Disney World!

April 4th, 2013

When was the last time you and your children went on a vacation and you knew they would enjoy it before you ever got there? When you looked at your kids today did you notice they were growing up? Doesn’t it seem like yesterday when you were still able to hold them in your arms? They are growing up and before you know it your chance to go on family vacations and spend quality will soon be limited. So take advantage of the time you have together and start to make seconds count starting with a super vacation. If you want to be Mom or Dad of the year go home tonight and tell your kids they are headed for Disney World. Look at the surprised wonder in their eyes and possibly hear a scream or two. But before telling them do your research and make sure you are getting the best package deal available.

Since 1991 we here at WDWPackages.com have been servicing clients that are vacationing in Orlando. We put an emphasis on customer service and truly care about our clients trying to get the best deals. We work with special hotels and we are always looking for discounts. We can guarantee the package deals are the lowest in the area. There are no hidden fees and no surprises. We work with a group of resorts and hotels that already have negotiated rates to keep this from happening. We offer several different packages for Walt Disney World starting with a 2 day package and then a 3 day package, 4 day, 5 day, 6 day and 7 day. When ordering your package through us we will let you know what tickets you are getting with the package. In other words we will tell you how many days you get to go to the Magic Kingdom, and also the price unless they are included in the package, which some are.

Last year when they were announcing the package where two adults and two children could go to Disney world for $1500.00 WDWPackages.com had the package for $1150.00. Wow that’s a savings of $350.00 which is probably enough for airline tickets. Also we can help you with your hotel room. Make sure you stay in a nice area and to do this you need recommendations from someone who is experienced in the area. After all you don’t want to end up on an undesirable part of town especially with two children. This will be included in your package. Stay away from the time share properties unless you want to purchase. They come with a tour and a high pressure sales person and frankly aren’t worth it.

WDWPackages.com understands when things happen in your life and your plans have to change. If you have an emergency and have to cancel your reservations, there is only a $15.00 fee and that can be credited to your account and if you re-book we will credit that to your bill for the next time. After all, our main goal is to please the customer.

So if you’re thinking of going Disney this year, think WDWPages.com, you’ll be glad you did!

Disney’s Monorial System

March 18th, 2013

Haven’t you always wanted to say that? Disney World has to be the best place to vacation and millions of people go there every year, and it is always packed. Walt Disney had to be a man with a vision. He knew what would happen when he built Disney World but could not fathom how many people would actually visit. He would have a hard time today believing the admissions that go in are thousands a day.

Do you know the difference between Disney World and Disneyland? Although both have wild and theatrical rides and give great family fun, Disney World was made after the making of Disneyland. Disney World is located in Florida while Disneyland is in California. Each one has there own set of attractions like Disneyland has Walt Disney Story, Indiana Jones Ride, Tarzan’s Tree house, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Casey Junior Circus Train, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin and now they also have Nemo, plus many more.

At Disney World they have Carousel of Progress, Hall of Presidents, Swiss Family Tree house, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Laugh Floor and Monsters Inc., plus many more.

While they have more attractions the above represent some of the parks major attractions. Disney World is much larger and has many features such as MGM Studios, Epcot Center and the Magic Kingdom.

How do all these people get around? Glad you ask, cause I am going to reveal the perfect system used by Disney, the monorail. When the monorail first started it was called Disneyland ALWEG monorail System and was in California. Being the first one in the Western Hemisphere, it was also the first in the united States. Originally Disney thought the monorail would be the transportation for the future but due to the popularity the cars were bringing, the monorails were confined to the Disney parks.

In October of 1971 the Walt Disney World Monorail System in Florida started giving service for the Magic Kingdom Resorts, the Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center. When Epcot opened in June of 1982 the system expanded and serviced the TTC and Epcot. Starting in 1986 and going through 1988 the monorail was upgraded to the Mark VI monorails. Some of the new features that were added were improvements on communications and control with on board monitoring, improved sliding door systems, and more standing room for peak travel periods. Also added were redesigned interiors, door systems and safety features and also air conditioning.

Today the Walt Disney World Resort runs twelve Mark VI monorail trains with three lines of service. The monorail system is a big responsibility just like the other parts, it takes a lot of employee’s to make sure it runs smoothly following all safety precautions. Not only for the monorail system but for the park in general.

Here are some interesting facts about Disney World and their operations:

* During the next two years the Disney monorail system in Florida will completely automate the entire transportation system. To monitor the train systems on board the drivers will become attendants. The trains will go from the stations by an operator and will make the decision on when it is time to close the doors. The cost will be around 75 Million dollars. Live rear view imagery will be a thing of the future when the cameras are added for the train attendants.

* The monorails all have Grover 1056 horns on them. Using the horn when departing a station, where the track parallels with the People Mover/Rocket Rod track as well when it approaches the Matterhorn are requirements for the horn. Also they sound it when a bird lands on the tracks.

* Known as the shop is where the maintenance happens for the monorails in Disney World. It can hold up to ten of the Mark VI trains in the upper level while saving the bottom for the four steam locomotives that goes around the Magic Kingdom on the west and on the east is the maintenance facility. If it is really cold outside and the temperature goes below freezing they park the trains inside the Contemporary Resort. Routine maintenance is performed nightly so no train will ever be left outside for more than two nights. It not unheard of for there to be two trains that are left at the stations overnight

* If there is an emergency each train will handle their evacuation differently depending on where the train is and the emergency. There are roof hatches to help evacuate if the emergency affects the whole train. Also if it affects the whole train the guests are asked to go to the surface of the beam. Although the guests go through the emergency hatches they do not move to the next car as they do in some emergency’s, here they move to the front of the train. Handling the Disney World monorail system emergency services is Reedy Creek Emergency Services. This company can handle first responses for the monorail system while maintaining a fire truck.

* The tow trucks for the monorail system is work tractors that are diesel powered. There are three tractors for towing that are for the three monorails. If the monorails loose power the tractors will be operational because they run on diesel engines.

* At Disney World, Monorail One is the person in charge of all the monorail operations. Handling guest matters the person is called the Guest Service Manager. This person also will handle arrangements for alternative transportation, such as buses or ferry boats just in case of a monorail downtime and complaints.

* While Disney World has had it’s share of injuries and accidents on the monorails only one death has occurred. One of their drivers was killed when two of their monorails ran into each other on July 5, 2009. Thus making this the monorail’s first fatal accident in history.

One of the most memorable things at Disney is the light event at night. Indeed it is a sight to behold. Breathtakingly beautiful is Cinderella as she arrives in her carriage as a vision of loveliness.

This is the most organized fun place I have ever visited in my life. The attendants are trust worthy, clean, polite, professional, friendly staff that go the extra mile to make sure your stay with them will be remembered forever.

Discount Orlando Hotels and Resorts

December 8th, 2012

Tourists are attracted to the state of Florida for various reasons, with the main reason being due to this particular state’s warm climate and plentiful beaches. From Jacksonville to Miami, tourists travel to Florida to enjoy all this state has to offer. One Florida city that tourists are especially drawn to is Orlando. In addition to its warm, sunny climate and lovely beaches, people visit Orlando because of the many theme parks, including Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Lego Land, which is the newest addition to the bunch. Of course there is also the opportunity to shop, golf, swim, fish, sight see, visit museums as well as a great deal more. Unfortunately for individuals on a budget, participating in various Orlando attractions can become quite expensive, especially if you are staying for more than just a few days.

One way to off-set your expenses is to eat at less expensive restaurants, or perhaps even prepare your own meals at times. It’s pretty inexpensive to buy a loaf of bread, a few condiments and the deli meats of your choice. Canned soup or potato chips are great ideas for possibilities that can be consumed with the sandwiches, and drinks purchased in the half-gallon or gallon size are more economical than buying individuals drinks. There is, of course, other less expensive food available at the supermarket, which you can choose, depending on your own personal preferences.

If you don’t wish to prepare your own foods or you don’t have access to a refrigerator, microwave or someplace else in which to cook your meals, as you probably already know, most fast food restaurants now have dollar menus that include various options. Dollar menus usually contain a combination of both healthy and not-so-healthy choices, and what you ultimately decide to eat depends totally on what your health goals are…or aren’t. Additionally, if you opt to eat lunch instead of dinner at a full-service restaurant, you can save quite a bit of money as well, since most restaurants offer a separate, much cheaper lunch menu. The portions are smaller, of course, but it is a way to still enjoy eating at your favorite restaurant but without spending an arm and a leg.

Another way to free up money so you’ll have more to spend enjoying the area attractions is to stay at a less expensive hotel. There is no need to sacrifice your comfort by staying at a sleazy, cockroach or rodent-infested motel because you decide to lower your budget, and as long as you choose the right hotel you can have the best of both worlds, meaning a nice hotel with various conveniences but for a budget price. The New Fantasyland-A Treat for All Ages

December 3rd, 2012

If you have been thinking about buying a Disney World Package, now is a great time to do so as Disney World has just introduced the new Fantasyland. All of your favorite characters will still be found here, but there is so much more to this theme park than there was in the past. From Belle and Gaston to the Beast and Belle, children and adults alike will fall in love all over again. Cinderella and Ariel aren’t left out either. It’s a wonderful place that the whole family will enjoy and the improvements just make the entire trip that much better.

When comparing Disney Packages, make sure that you find one that allows you to spend as much time as you would like to in the new Fantasyland. Kids may want to spend an entire day just enjoying the section devoted to Gaston, Belle and the Beast. Here they can see attractions such as Enchanted Tales with Belle and dine at Gaston’s Tavern before exploring other attractions in the park. The entire family can then head back to this area and cross a scary bridge to dine at the Be Our Guest restaurant which is sure to be a major draw.

Enchanted Tales with Belle isn’t a ride nor is it an attraction. It’s not a meet-and-greet either like many of the Disney World attractions. Here Belle has a story time adventure with Lumiere and Madame Wardrobe before meeting with her ‘guests’ to take photos. It’s a combination of all that is great about Disney and yet they are still improving on it.

Gaston’s Tavern is egotistical to say the least, but nothing less would be expected from a restaurant devoted to this villain. From the fountain featuring Gaston standing on LeFou’s back to the antlers on the wall, Disney hasn’t missed a detail in creating a restaurant that is as arrogant as Gaston himself. It’s a real treat for anyone who visits.

The Be Our Guest restaurant continues on the Gaston and Belle theme and brings to life those features most loved in the movie. Visitors experience the castle of the Beast much as Belle did in the movie. The exterior is not lacking either in that Disney has created the landscape from the movie as the natural landscape wasn’t suitable for a castle of this size. The designers have worked to ensure it blends in with the rest of the park also.

Ariel’s Under the Sea ride is another huge hit. Here guests ride in clam-shell vehicles as the story of The Little Mermaid plays out, complete with dancing animals such as turtles, starfish and an octopus. Ursala is there also as every story needs a villain. The combination of animatronics and animation appears to be a hit and this attraction if very life-like, according to recent visitors.

Princess Fairytale Hall and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train roller coster are expected to open in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Once you see how much fun the new Fantasyland is, you’ll want to make a return trip to see these attractions when they open, if not sooner. Book your next Disney Vacation Package before you leave. You’ll be glad you did when you make your return trip to Fantasyland. It’s that much fun!
